European Initiative for Spino-Cerebellar Ataxia Type 3

We are partners in the ESMI (European Spino-Cerebellar Ataxia Type 3 Initiative), with the University of the Azores, whose main objectives are to follow up a group of people with DMJ (patients and those without symptoms) while simultaneously studying the clinical changes and the biochemical changes that are present in them.
Within the framework of ESMI, follow-up will be carried out simultaneously on several groups of patients at European level, using the same instruments and methodologies, in order to organise an international cohort (group of patients) ready to enter clinical trials (‘trial-ready cohort’).
